Respect

People like New College of California president Martin Hamilton, who are unable to understand the meaning of respect, spend their careers sending out letters like this when they get caught breaking the law. They fool no one but themselves, but within our fraud-tolerant culture, they are still able to continue doing enormous harm year after year with little personal repercussion. The silent majority who condone this misanthropic behavior out of cowardice, laziness, or fear, are no better.
