Idealized Cognitive Models

Reading Steven Newcomb’s article about his new book Pagan’s in the Promised Land, I am intrigued by his reference to what he calls Idealized Cognitive Models, ICMs, two of which in the US are the Conqueror model and the Chosen People model. As Newcomb observes, these Christian imaginative frameworks still enable state dominion of natives, heathens, and tribal peoples in the US and worldwide.
