Hoping and Demanding

We are hoping that Obama will make a human rights plan a top priority for our country. Two things he will have to do to make it more than rhetorical is to dismantle the national security apparatus begun in 1948, and to stop all violations of treaties with Native Americans. Both of these actions will put him at odds with those who financed his campaign, and thus require significant social disruption demanding an end to ownership of the White House by Wall Street. He can’t do it alone.
